Riches: In Genesis 13 we can read of the riches of Abram and Lot. Verse 6, "Now the land was not able to support them, that they might dwell together, for their possessions were so great that they could not dwell together." How are you doing in life, compared to what we have just read? Has the US recession or talk of it got you down? Clearly, Abram and Lot were rich with a great lot of possessions!
This writer would never push you the readers to chase the world's riches, as some do! But, as this writer reads his Bible, we can read Psalm 50:10 "For every beast of the forest of Mine, And the cattle on a thousand hills." In addition, Phillippians 4:19 "And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." God means for His people to be well off spiritually and with possessions! In Malachi 3:10 "Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this," Says the Lord of hosts, If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it."
